Favorite Things...

I am loving some particular things with our girls, these days.

Stella:

1. She cannot get enough of Ruby, and constantly talks of all of the things she is going to show her little sister someday
2. Her ever-evolving sense of humor (she can take a joke as well as she gives them)
3. Her ability to laugh at herself (most of the time)
4. Stella can't wait to get a 'big girl' bike
5. Stella is great at praises, for anything and everything

The other day, we talked of visiting Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake. After that, Stella kept asking when we were actually going to the 'Square Temple'

Ruby (4 months):

1. She is grabbing everything that comes near her
2. Ruby is sucking/chewing on everything that comes near her mouth
3. She is super ticklish and has the most adorable giggle
4. She never really stops moving -legs are always going, and eyes are always looking around trying to take everything in. This girl doesn't want to miss out on a thing.
5. When Ruby smiles, her mouth opens wide, and it takes up half of her face - so cute!
6. I have to mention the yummy, chubby legs and cheeks - I am always squeezing them...

Pics to come, probably towards the end of the month, when the camera is unpacked.

The Mooooooove... Aargh!

OK, ok, ok. We are moving to Utah. In 10 days. Charger for the camera battery has been packed. No pics until we are unpacked (sorry). Bittersweet, to say the least. Living in South Ogden, while Glenn attends the U. More details to come, but probably not until we are there and semi-settled. Too much to do, for right now. Tchau.

Heading home. What a great start to the day!

10 weeks

Our little beauty will be ten weeks tomorrow. Some little facts:
Nickname: Roobs, Ruby-Lu,
Loves to kick - this girl never stops moving
Smiles (the wide-open mouthed kind), and coos like crazy (with an occasional ADORABLE laugh thrown in)
Still has the gorgeous red hair
Has her days and nights mixed up, sleep-wise
Is the apple of Stella's eye
Loves to stand
Starting to like peek-a-boo

We sure are crazy about this little cutie:

Aargh, Matey!!

We have re-entered the pirate phase. I love it.
The Get-Up:

Before finding her pirate scowl:

Success!

Look who's Growing...

This one just keeps getting cuter!!

Giants, Baby!!

We headed to the City to check out Fan Appreciation Day with the Sf Giants. Ruby and I had a previous engagement, so we met up with Glenn and Stella later on.

Saying Goodbye

Stella's Ya-ya came out for a month, arriving the day after Ruby came into the world. We are so grateful for family, and for a month of having one of Stella's grandma's around to hold and snuggle Ruby, as well as rough housing, tea parties, and dress up with Stella. What a fun month! We said goodbye yesterday, and it made for a few sad moments after the train pulled away.. We love you, Ya-ya!!

Big Sister Responsibilities...

Stella's new favorite thing to do with Ruby..

Becoming Accustomed to One Another

It has been fun watching Stella eat up every moment with Ruby, over the past couple of weeks. We have many pictures like this one:

Almost as much fun, is watching Ruby notice Stella more and more, and not minding the constant touching from her big sister. Stella loves any opportunity for Ruby to hold her hand, or respond to Stella's kisses. This afternoon, Ruby was sleeping in her crib, when she woke up fussing. We let her fuss for a few minutes, but Ruby wanted to be held. Right after I picked up Ruby, Stella asked if the two of them could lay next to each other on Stella's bed. As soon as I laid Ruby next to Stella, and Ruby could feel someone next to her, she went right back to sleep. They stayed this way for a good forty minutes. Stella loved it. Ruby is so lucky to have such a great big sister.

Ringing in the New Year

We rang in the new year in grand fashion this year... Ruby Lauren was born @ 6:40 New Years Eve. 7 lbs, 4 oz and 18.5" long. Lots of red hair, and daddy's chin dimple (just like Stella). Nothing more beautiful. Except perhaps watching Stella with Ruby. We are just in love with this darling new addition to our family. Easy delivery, and we're all doing great (and even getting a decent amount of sleep already). Pics below..

Glenn went and picked up Stella from a friends place so she could come over and meet Ruby and hang out a bit before going back to head to bed. Love at first sight...

First family photo

Stella was there to escort Little Sister home from the hospital

Apparently, Ruby doesn't appreciate Stella's attempt to spoon in the crib

Stella can't get enough of this little one - always talking to Ruby, touching her, and plenty of hugs and kisses

Tonight, we had a little party celebrating Ruby's one week birthday
We sure LOVE our girlies!!
A great big thank you to all of our friends and family who have shown us so much love and support these past several months, but especially this past week. We love you all so much!
